fabrice edelmann

Fabrice Edelmann was born in Geneva, Switzerland. After his beginnings at the Conservatory Popular he enters L’École de Danse de Genève under the direction of Beatriz Consuelo where he trained in classical and contemporary technique. Soon he joined the Junior Ballet of the same director, acquiring his first choreographic experiences, dancing works by Ivonice Satie, Iracity Cardoso, Beatriz Consuelo, Frederic Gafner and Myriam Naisy among many others.

In 1994 he became part of the Hagen Ballet of director Richard Wherlock with whom he will work as a soloist in Lucerne, at the Komische Oper in Berlin and the Ballet of Basel for 8 years, dancing in addition to his works, Ballets by Ed Wube, Orjan Anderson, Nils Christie, Myriam Naisy and Itzik Galili.

In 2002 he joined the National Dance Company of Nacho Duato expanding his experience with ballets of the same director, as well as Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, and Gentian Doda. In the 2008 season, he became a repeater of the National Dance Company 2, which he ends up directing in 2010.

He is currently an assistant to Nacho Duato, and guest professor in various schools, conservatories and national and international companies, where he teaches repertoire workshops as well as classical or contemporary classes.

Professor of Contemporary Dance at the School of Carmina Ocaña and Pablo Savoye for 3 years, from 2015 to 2018, is regularly invited to teach classes and workshops at the School.
